Expedia posts healthy revenues in the third quarter
Holiday website Expedia reported healthy growth in its revenues in the third quarter of 2016.
For the third quarter ending 30 September, revenue grew 33 per cent to $2.6bn (£2.14bn).
Gross bookings increased 21 per cent year-on-year to $18.6bn.

The website's portfolio of places to stay increased by more than 14,000 properties in the quarter, up 19 per cent year-on-year. The total number of properties on Expedia is now over 321,000.
Expedia said the majority of its total revenue mix was accounted for by its hotel business. This made up 63 per cent of revenue. Advertising and media was the second biggest contributor, at nine per cent of the total.
The business said recently that is had been hit by terror attacks in Europe, and that travel demand to France was a particular challenge. But chief financial officer Mark Okerstrom said that bookings from the US to London had picked up due to the fall in the value of sterling following the Brexit vote.
