Who is even supporting Donald Trump in the US election anyway?

While Hillary Clinton has been raking in the celebrity backers, peaking with Beyonce and Jay Z over the weekend, Donald Trump's endorsements list is looking a little… shorter.

Clinton can boast the backing of Madonna, George and Amal Clooney, Katy Perry and a whole host more high-profile Americans.

But the Republican candidate doesn't seem to care much. “The only people enthusiastic about her campaign are Hollywood celebrities, in many cases celebrities that aren’t very hot anymore,” he said.

"By the way, I didn’t have to bring J. Lo or Jay Z — the only way she gets anybody,” he said. “I am here all by myself. Just me — no guitar, no piano, no nothing.” It buys in well to his anti-establishment rhetoric.

As the US goes the polls today, Clinton is a few points ahead, but let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

While the Donald is likely to say he has the American people on his side, who is actually backing Trump that we might have heard of?

Nigel Farage

​The interim Ukip leader has been visiting the Republican candidate throughout the campaign, and helped him prepare for his debates against Clinton.

Trump has said that the US election could be "Brexit times ten", and our Nige is keen to support the businessman in his mission to batter down "the establishment".

"He represents change," Farage said.

Charlie Sheen

The Two and a Half Men actor is on the Trump wagon, apparently. He tweeted that he would be Trump's vice president "in a heartbeat".

It could be one huge joke…

Azealia Banks

The American rapper and singer-songwriter is also a supporter, saying that Clinton talked to black people "as if we're children or pets".

"I REALLY want Donald Trump to win the election," she tweeted. "Trump is an asshole but he's not been groomed and programmed… to DO & SAY what the establishment wants him to," she said.

Peter Thiel

The Pay-pal co-founder and multi-billionaire announced at a speech to the National Press Club he was supporting Trump.

“It’s not a lack of judgement that leads Americans to vote for Trump,” he said. “We’re voting for Trump because we judge the leadership of our country to have failed.”

Philip Davies

This British conservative MP has said he would support the Republican candidate. He wrote:

People are fed up of being told what they can and cannot think and what they can and cannot say. I think that we should celebrate politicians who stand up and say things that are unpopular and controversial.

Not that he has a vote, mind you…

Rupert Murdoch

The media mogul kept quiet about whether he would be behind Trump for quite a while, tweeting a mixture of support and criticism. But the owner of The Times, The Sun, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post now intends to fully back him, according to the New York mag.

Clint Eastwood

The film star said he had grown tired of political correctness, but has not said who he will be voting for.

"[Trump's] onto something, because secretly everybody's getting tired of political correctness, kissing up… We're really in a pussy generation."

Mike Tyson

The boxer has been outspoken about his support for Trump for months.

"I know him," the boxer told the Daily Beast. "When I see him, he shakes my hand and respects my family. None of them – Barack, whoever – nobody else does that. They're gonna be who they are and disregard me, my family. So I'm voting for him."

Loretta Lynn

"Trump has sold me, what more can I say?… I just think he's the only one who's going to turn this country around," the country music star said in an interview with Reuters.
