Eurozone construction rebounds in October
Construction in the Eurozone bounced back in October, according to new figures published this morning, but the sector is struggling to pick up momentum.
The currency-bloc’s construction output climbed 0.5 per cent in October compared with the month before. The monthly gain took year-on-year growth to 1.1 per cent. It also marks a rebound from a 0.4 per cent dip in September.

The biggest yearly increase was in Slovakia, where construction rose by nearly a third.
Spain registered growth of 8.2 per cent. Slovenia suffered the sharpest decline with a fall of 11.8 per cent.
Growth remained subdued in Germany, the Eurozone’s biggest economy, at 0.6 per cent on the year. Meanwhile, the French construction sector contracted 2.4 per cent.
The sector makes up six per cent of Eurozone economic output. However, its production levels remain 25 per cent below the levels seen in 2007, before the financial crisis.
