EU referendum: Green Party lauches pro-Remain campaign
The Green Party has launched its pro-Remain EU campaign, stating that Green supporters will be crucial in order to win the vote for the UK to stay in the EU.
The Green Party's only MP Caroline Lucas said the party would be "loud and proud" about the UK's membership of the EU, arguing the EU story should be celebrated.

Lucas' comments come after the pro-Remain camp had been labelled by those who back Brexit as "project fear", as it had focussed on the uncertainty and risks to leaving the EU.
"In a fast-changing world we need international rules to control big business and finance, and to ensure that people’s rights are protected – at work and as consumers. The EU has also given us the freedom to live, study, work and retire across an entire continent," Lucas said.

She added: "The European story should be celebrated. Countries with different histories and cultures have come together, opting to share sovereignty while keeping their own traditions, in order to work together for the common good."
However, Lucas added that the EU isn't perfect, but that to make the it better for every European "we need to stay in and reform it".
Last week Lucas warned that Britain could "sleepwalk out of EU" if Labour fails to make strong case for staying in the 28-member bloc.
