EU referendum: First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says Scotland “see their future as part of the European Union”
As multiple sources predict Leave to win the EU referendum Nicola Sturgeon has said that "the people of Scotland see their future as part of the EU".
While the Leave camp has not yet passed the 50 per cent mark, current projections are for it to do so.
The First Minister said: "Scotland has delivered a strong, unequivocal vote to remain in the EU, and I welcome that endorsement of our European status.

"And while the overall result remains to be declared, the vote here makes clear that the people of Scotland see their future as part of the EU."
It was a Scottish National Party manifesto pledge that it would hold a second independence referendum if the UK voted to leave the EU, but Scotland voted to stay in.

In other news, alarm bells have started ringing for Labour as a number of high-ranking MPs in their party warned they are out of touch with their party.
Ukip leader Nigel Farage even said that one of the best things about his evening was how traditional Labour supporters, particularly in the north, had backed Remain.
Meanwhile, speculation will continue as to whether David Cameron can continue to serve as Prime Minister in the wake of the defeat.
