Essentra profits rise 22 per cent
FTSE 250-LISTED plastic and fibre products maker Essentra yesterday unveiled a 17 per cent increase in half-year revenue and a 22 per cent rise in half-year profit, in its first results since re-branding from Filtrona.
The British firm said that it is on track for further growth this year and that the acquisition of Contego Healthcare is proceeding in line with expectations.
Chief executive Colin Day told City A.M. that Essentra is currently in talks with four or five companies across a number of sectors but is in no rush to finalise the next acquisition. “We don’t have deal fever”, he said.
