EPPP: The saviour of english football?
What is it?
■ The Elite Player Performance Plan is a Premier League initiative designed to ensure the country’s best young talent is developed by the best clubs and the best coaches
■ Academies are audited with factors including investment and coaching assessed and are subsequently categorised between one and four
■ Players can move from one academy to another for a fixed level of compensation
■ Under EPPP players will spend 10,000 hours training between the ages of nine and 21 – the same as Royal Ballet School pupils (see below)
