England will win, but it could be cagey against Fiji
LOOKING to tonight’s curtain raiser against Fiji, England are certain to win, and priced accordingly – as short as 1/100 in some places.
In five meetings, the Red Rose have never scored less than 20 points, and in the last two fixtures have managed 45 and 54. However, with nerves jangling, I don’t think the tournament hosts will be quite as prolific as that. I’d look to sell their points at 39 with Sporting Index.
The weight of home expectation, coupled with the pressure of an opening match, points to a cagey England performance as they look to find their feet in what could be a six week campaign.
A 25-point head start could see the Fijians to victory and I’ll be backing that at evens with Betway.
As for player markets, it wouldn’t be a rugby article without a mention of rugby league convert Sam Burgess.
He’s part of a strong England bench who’ll be taking to the field with Fiji tiring, which could leave opportunities for a late score.
A buy of England sub try minutes could be interesting at 50, and there’ll be no surprises if Slammin’ Sam is involved.
