England flanker Robshaw up for player of the season award
ENGLAND and Harlequins captain Chris Robshaw has been rewarded for a landmark season with a nomination for the Premiership Rugby Player of the season award.
Flanker Robshaw recovered from the disappointment of missing the 2011 Rugby World Cup to earn the England captaincy under new coach Stuart Lancaster and lead first-placed Quins to the brink of the Premiership title.
Vying with Robshaw, who has been compared to England World Cup winning flanker Richard Hill, on the six-man shortlist is club colleague and full-back Mike Brown, England team-mate and centre Brad Barritt, Exeter flanker James Scaysbrook, Gloucester prop Nick Wood and Leicester flanker Julian Salvi.
