Ed Balls. Former Labour MP priced as 100/1 outsider as Strictly rumours mount
Former shadow chancellor Ed Balls is rumoured to be joining Strictly Come Dancing this year, but the Labour man has already been priced as a 100/1 outsider.
Rumours are growing that the former Morley & Outwood MP will join the show, although the BBC says any suggestions are speculation.
The BBC will begin releasing the names of competitors next week, but bookmaker Ladbrokes had already priced Balls as an outsider.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "At 100/1 Ed's got no chance of waltzing his way to Glitterball glory. The odds suggest it's going to be another occasion where he may struggle to win over voters."
Entering the BBC show would be the latest sporting venture for the Labour man, who used to play for an MPs' football XI and has also run three marathons.
Scottish Tories leader Ruth Davidson was among the first to congratulate Balls on his first appointment.
And, all the while, just being that wee bit* jealous that @edballs is getting to do Strictly.
