EasyGroup representative Tim Ingram resigns from FastJet board over growing tensions
Tim Ingram, EasyGroup Holding's representative on the board of FastJet, resigned from his board position at the latter firm earlier this afternoon.
"The board has regrettably accepted Tim's resignation," Colin Child, non-executive chairman at EasyGroup, said. "I would like to thank Tim for his contribution and professionalism during his time on the board and wish him well for the future."
Ingram's resignation follows growing tensions between the eastern and southern Africa-based FastJet and EasyGroup, after the EasyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioanno went public with a letter relating to the two businesses' contractual relationships. Haji-Ioanna helped set up FastJet four years ago and through EasyJet owns 12.6 per cent of the business.
The EasyGroup boss released the first letter in which he called for chief executive Ed Winter and another director, Krista Bates, to leave the company due to expected negative cash flow rates over this year.
Bates left shortly after, while Winter is expected to have left by the end of this week.
Yesterday, the firm released another letter Haji-Ioanna had written to the chairman and the board of FastJet to demand that it resume the publication of monthly passenger statistics "as a matter of urgency", as well as demanding updated cash flow forecasts for the current financial year.
