Dutch have grown as a team, insists veteran Gio
FORMER Arsenal defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst believes Holland have learned their lesson from their Euro 2008 campaign and are ready to mount a strong World Cup charge.
The 35-year-old veteran wins his 100th cap for the Dutch against Denmark in Johannesburg today and says the team have grown from the disappointment of two years ago where they beat Italy and France in the group stages, only to lose out to Russia in the quarter-finals.
“We have to operate as a team, but we also have the players who can win games and we have grown as a team,” the Feyenoord full-back said. “We have to continue on that path for this World Cup.”
