Dividend hike lifts EasyJet
BUDGET airline EasyJet yesterday said it would hike its dividend. However, its founder slammed a decision to go ahead with a large aircraft order.
EasyJet said it would raise its dividend from 33 per cent to 40 per cent, due to “continued strong financial performance of EasyJet and confidence in the future”.
However, founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou said the decision to exercise rights to buy 27 more A320 planes from Airbus was “destructive to shareholder value”.
