The ex-Labour whip was found guilty of perverting the course of justice in December after lying to police to avoid a speeding fine.
The former MP for Peterborough denied she was behind the wheel when her car was caught doing 41mph in a 30mph zone in Cambridgeshire.
But she was convicted in a retrial at the Old Bailey after the jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict.
She served less than four weeks in prison, having received a three-month sentence.
Onasanya lost her seat in May after constituents signed a recall petition, forcing a by-election. She had already been expelled from the Labour Party following her conviction.
Today she was kicked out of the legal profession and ordered to pay costs of £6,562 after a hearing of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
