Deutsche Bank appoints Sir Richard Lambert as an adviser
DEUTSCHE Bank has hired former Bank of England policy maker Sir Richard Lambert as a senior independent adviser, as the firm grapples with the effects of the sovereign debt crisis and a raft of new banking rules.
Sir Richard was director general at business group the CBI from 2006 to 2011.
Prior to this, he was a member of the Bank of England’s interest-rate-setting committee for three years, and worked 35 years at the Financial Times, ten of which he spent as editor.
“As a senior independent adviser, he will help ensure Deutsche Bank remains the industry’s leading universal bank and a trusted adviser to the UK’s leading companies,” said Deutsche Bank’s UK boss Colin Grassie.
Deutsche Bank said in October that it plans to cut around 1,900 jobs worldwide, as the bank embarks on a restructuring that will add a string of one-off charges to this year’s results.
