David Williams of Ladbrokes with his best bets for today
THE GROUP Two Park Hill Stakes (2.40pm) on day two of the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival provides SILK SARI with a big chance to remind punters of the genius qualities of trainer Luca Cumani.
The selection proved herself to be gutsy and classy in equal measure when running out a game winner of a decent Listed race at Newbury and is clearly going the right way for her trainer.
The Group Three Sceptre Stakes (2.10pm) looks a classy renewal and Oak Tree Stakes winner J Wonder will be popular after her classy win at Glorious Goodwood.
But preference is for Sir Michael Stoute’s BRAGGING, who ran out a facile winner of a York handicap off 97, destroying a decent-looking field and racking up her third win from just five career starts.
The 10-furlong handicap at 3.45pm looks a decent and competitive race, but John Gosden has managed to find a place towards the bottom of the weights for his lightly raced LONG CROSS, who looked to be a work in progress when winning last time out and may still be ahead of the handicapper. Mange All should be backed to make the frame for William Haggas in the same race.
