Daily Mail owner to sell US event business
The owner of the Daily Mail newspaper has confirmed that it has raised a for-sale sign over its US events management business George Little Management.
Daily Mail and General Trust said it was “reviewing the strategic alternatives” for the business after concluding that it had limited use within its group.
DMGT intends to focus its events on “fewer areas with exceptional opportunities such as our portfolio of Energy shows and our activities in the Middle East both of which are growing strongly,” it said.
GLM events include the biennial New York International Gift Fair at the Jacob Javits center in New York.
DMGT’s statement follows reports that George Little could sell for up to £200m.
It has appointed New York-based Jordan Edmiston Group to advise it.
