Cyber security firm NCC’s revenue rise is not reflected in stalling profits
Cyber security firm NCC has revealed rising revenue in the year ending 31 March.
Revenue was up 21 per cent from 2014, to 133.7m. Finance boss Atul Patel, told City A.M. that this showed “another record year of strong international growth.”
The revenue growth did not though prompt a rise in profits at the Manchester-based firm. Reported operating profit was £22.6m, down from £24.1m the year before.
The company attributes this to its investment in the new domain services part of the business – selling web addresses. It has bought the .trust top level domain, which it says will help them sell companies more secure and trustworthy websites.
Patel said there would be “a whole verification process to confirm you are who you’re supposed to be” when someone tries to buy a .trust domain from NCC, to make sure users can trust the sites that have it.
Shares in NCC were up two per cent in Thursday trading.
