Criminal investigation launched after man caught on video urinating on Kellogg’s factory assembly line
A criminal investigation has been launched in the US after a video was posted online showing a man urinating on a Kellogg's factory assembly line.
The company, which owns a number of well-known breakfast cereal brands, learned of the video on Friday and its own investigation revealed that it was filmed in its Memphis, Tennessee, factory in 2014.
Law enforcement authorities and regulators have been alerted to the incident.
The company stresses that only a limited number of products, which could have included Rice Krispies Treats, will have been affected by the incident and these would all be past their expiry date by now.
A spokesperson for the company said that it was "shocked and deeply disappointed" by the video, adding: "Food quality is of the utmost importance to Kellogg Company. We are outraged by this completely unacceptable situation, and we will work closely with authorities to prosecute to the full extent of the law."
