Corbisiero set to win recall as Lancaster shuffles his pack
ENGLAND head coach Stuart Lancaster looks set to ring the changes as he prepares his side for a crucial Test against South Africa on Saturday.
Australia surprisingly dominated England’s pack on Saturday and at least one change will be enforced as Harlequins prop Joe Marler is ruled out with a knee ligament injury.
Marler could be replaced by Alex Corbisiero, who has shrugged off a knee problem to play twice for London Irish in the past fortnight.
However Lancaster has hinted he could make more changes to deal with the brutality of the Springbok forwards, who have led South Africa to victories over Ireland and Scotland in their first two tour matches.
“The priority now is to get the selection right, with the physicality of the Springboks. Changes in personnel will give us some impetus,” said Lancaster.
“Ben Morgan scored a hat-trick at the weekend, James Haskell is desperate for an opportunity, Tom Wood is ready for a start, Alex Corbesiero is coming back. They will come into the equation.”
The likes of Geoff Parling, Tom Palmer, Manu Tuilagi, Tom Youngs and Charlie Sharples missed training yesterday with light knocks from the weekend but are expected to recover.
England are desperate to beat the Springboks at Twickenham in order to boost their chances of being top seeds for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
