Coca-Cola goes green for lower calorie version
Coca-Cola has swapped its signature red cans in favour of green after unveiling a new version of its famous soft drink yesterday that will have one third less sugar and one third fewer calories than its regular cola.
Coca-Cola Life, which will hit UK shelves in the autumn, will have 89 calories per can and is sweetened with natural rather than artificial sweeteners.
A 330ml can will now contain 22.1 grams of sugar, down from the 35 grams found in regular Coke.
The new version, the first new Coca-Cola since Coke Zero was launched in 2006, will still contain 25 per cent of an adult’s guideline daily amount (GDA).
