Co-op signs deal to supply own-brand sandwiches to Superdrug stores
The Co-op has struck a deal with Superdrug to provide the health and beauty chain with sandwiches and snacks for its food-to-go range.
During a trial period set to launch this summer, the supermarket chain will supply its own-brand sandwiches, salads and fruit to seven Superdrug branches at railway stations and airports.

The range of more than 40 products, which includes vegan and gluten-free choices, will be available at Victoria and Fenchurch Street stations.
Superdrug branches at East Midlands, Bristol and Edinburgh airports, as well as in Brighton and Sheffield, will also participate in the trial.
“We are delighted to be introducing Co-op food-to-go in some of our travel branches,” said Chris Brown, head of personal care and convenience at Superdrug.
“We know our customers will appreciate the range available, and the fact it offers a great value choice for busy commuters and travellers.”
The move is Co-op’s latest attempt to offer its own-brand products through new retailers following a tie-up with 2,200 Costcutter stores and its acquisition of convenience store chain Nisa.

“We are continually exploring new ways to bring our award-winning products closer to shoppers and reach new customers, and this new agreement does exactly that,” said Matt Hood, trading director at Co-op Food.
“Becoming the food-to-go partner of Superdrug is an exciting development as Co-op continues to grow its brand and the accessibility of its own-brand products.”
