Clubs starting to fear Spurs
IN-FORM Tottenham are beginning to get the recognition they deserve from rival teams, according to central defender Jan Vertonghen.
Spurs have won eight of their nine matches this season in all competitions, conceding just a solitary goal to north London rivals Arsenal in the process.
A positive result against Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime would briefly move Andre Villas-Boas’s team to the top of the Premier League table, with the Gunners playing at Swansea in the evening.
And Vertonghen believes his team are seen as a serious threat.
“We have a lot of confidence and everybody can see we don’t concede a lot of goals,” he said. “I think other teams are watching.”
