Claudio Ranieri promises Tottenham Hotspur they will face a Leicester side which has re-found its title-winning magic
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri insists his side have re-found their title-winning magic and has promised Saturday's opponents Tottenham that the Foxes will be unrecognisable from their early season woes.
Defending Premier League champions Leicester have been a shadow of their former selves this term, having lost four of their nine fixtures, while an away win has so far proven elusive. The Midlands club only lost three league matches last season.
Leicester returned to winning ways against Crystal Palace last week and will now go in search of back-to-back league victories for the first time this campaign against a Tottenham outfit who were their principal title rivals for much of last season.
“Against Crystal Palace we went back to our old philosophy, everybody closed, everybody with the same discipline and I recognised them again,” said Ranieri. “It’s important we don’t go back and we stay this way.”
Ranieri has credited his side’s resurgence in no small part to Japan striker Shinji Okazaki, who made his first start since 10 September against the Eagles.
The Italian added: “He is important for the team because he presses a lot – he is our dilly ding, dilly dong. He wakes up our players – he has the bell.”
