City wealth manager adds to our appeal
THERE is more good news for City A.M.’s Christmas appeal with the addition of a generous personal gift from Greg Knight (pictured), practice principal at City wealth manager Welbeck Group today.
Knight’s significant donation takes our total to an incredible £200,000 after only two weeks of fundraising.
Knight, a former London Scottish rugby player who founded Welbeck in 2001, wanted to back our appeal because it chimes with his “self-starting” approach to both business and life.
“Not only does Opportunity International provide business loans to African nations and the poor – it helps deliver long-term, self-supporting projects that are crucial for economic stability,” he says.
“Welbeck Group are self-starters and we strongly support the City A.M. Christmas appeal but also the ethos of the charity. It is a fresh and sensible approach to long-term development and we are right behind them. It is a pleasure to support financially and philosophically.”
With two weeks of our appeal left to go, there is still time to donate and we welcome all gifts large and small by text, by telephone or via our website. Through our match funding agreement, all donations from UK individuals will be matched by the Government pound for pound.
