Future Capital Partners
The investment boutique has hired Tim West as its new deputy chief executive.
West joins from Babcock and Brown, where he was head of the London office and chief operating officer for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Prior to that, he held the position of European chief operating officer for iShares, Barclays Global Investors’ exchange-traded funds business.
BG Group
The natural gas group has appointed Chris Finlayson as its new executive vice president for Europe and central Asia, effective from September.
Finlayson takes over from Ashley Almanza, who has been working in this role in addition to his duties as chief financial officer.
He joins from oil giant Shell, where he was executive vice president in the upstream global solutions team.
Baring Asset Management
The investment manager has appointed Andrew Benton from rival Schroders as head of UK and international institutional sales and business development.
Benton will be responsible for all London-based institutional sales, having been head of UK institutional sales at Schroders for the past five years. Prior to that, he was head of global consultant relationships at RCM’s UK business.
RBC Wealth Management
Tracy Maeter is to join the wealth manager, part of the Royal Bank of Canada, as head of investments for the British Isles.
Maeter will be based in London and joins from HSBC, where she spent five years, latterly as head of investors.
She has also worked at JP Morgan and in the consulting sector.
Mercer
The consulting, outsourcing and investment firm has appointed Deborah Cowell as a principal and senior consultant in its health and benefits business in London.
Cowell will be part of the group’s custom and strategic client team and will be responsible for client management and development. She was previously head of the health and risk benefits group and a consulting principal at Hewitt.
Jupiter Europa Hedge Fund
The hedge fund announced yesterday that director Bryan Lenygon has resigned and has been replaced by Ian Davidson.
Davidson was a partner with accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers until he retired in 2007, after a career of 36 years in the firm’s Bermuda office.
He also serves as a director on the boards of two other investment funds and several Bermuda-based not-for-profit organisations.
