Rathbone Brothers
The fund management group has appointed Mike Webb as chief executive of its unit trust business, Rathbone Unit Trust Management.
Webb has over 25 years of experience in the retail funds world and joins from Hermes Fund Managers, where he was head of business development. He has also previously held roles as chief executive of Invesco Perpetual and managing director of the retail division of GT Global Asset Management.
SWIP
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has hired Mark Connolly as its new director of fixed income.
Connolly joins from Standard Life Investments, where he was most recently executive director for distribution and client services.
In his new role, he will report directly to Dean Buckley, managing director of SWIP.
Threadneedle
The asset manager has appointed Simon Brazier, Richard Colwell and James Thorne to its UK equity team.
Brazier joins from Schroders as co-head of UK equities; Colwell joins the UK equity income team from Aviva; while Thorne will be a fund manager on the UK smaller companies team and was previously at Barings.
First Reserve Corporation
The energy industry investment firm has promoted Anastasia Deulina to the position of director.
Deulina originally joined the firm in 2007, and her responsibilities range from deal origination and structuring to due diligence, execution and monitoring, with particular focus on the reserve sectors of the energy industry.
Prior to that, she was a vice president at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch and also worked at the World Bank Moscow Resident Mission.
Worldwide Natural Resources
Philip Rand has joined the natural resources investment company as non-executive chairman.
Rand, the former chief executive and chief financial officer of Aim-listed oil and gas explorer Equator Exploration, is also currently a director of Victoria Oil and Gas.
Horizon Asset Management
The US private investment firm has named Douglas Kramer, a former partner at Goldman Sachs, as its new chief executive.
Kramer, who left New York-based private equity firm Quadrangle Capital Partners last year, will join former Goldman colleague Hugh Ross, who was hired as Horizon’s chief operating officer in April 2009.
Santander
Barrie Kilfeather is to join Santander’s corporate banking division as a director for trade finance, covering Anglia, Midlands, the South West and Wales.
Kilfeather joins from RBS and has 30 years of banking experience, mainly in providing trade financing solutions to businesses.
