RWC Partners
The asset manager has hired Schroders fund managers Nick Purves (pictured) and Ian Lance.
Purves and Lance will manage both value and income funds at RWC, building on their track record with the Schroder UK Equity Income Fund, the best-performing fund in the IMA UK equity income sector over the past five years.
Purves has been at Schroders for 16 years, while Lance joined in 2007 from Gartmore, where he was head of global equity research.
BNP Paribas
The banking group has hired Michael Gordon to its BNP Paribas Asset Management arm as chief investment officer for equity.
Gordon has over ten years of investment experience gleaned at Schroder Investment Management Australia, Wardley Investment Services and latterly Fidelity, where he was most recently global head of institutional investment. He has also held the positions of global chief investment officer and Asian chief investment officer at the firm.
Union Bancaire Privée
The bank has appointed Jean-Baptiste Segard as chief investment officer of long-only investments.
Segard joins UBP in the summer from his previous position as head of business development at hedge fund GLG Partners in London, which was yesterday snapped up by investment giant Man Group for $1.6bn.
Prior to that, he held the role of chief executive officer of Société Générale Asset Management in the UK, having started his career as a bond analyst.
Resolute Asset Management
The advisory and asset management firm, established earlier this year, has hired Mike McCarrick as vice president of real estate asset management.
McCarrick joins from WCP Management and the Waterbridge Group, a private UK property company where he was head of asset management and previously head of acquisitions.
Wedlake Bell
The law firm has boosted its commercial property team with the hire of Jay Das, a partner specialising in town and country planning.
Das joins from Matthew Arnold & Baldwin, where she was a partner. She was previously an associate at Beachcroft.
Das has experience advising on a number of high-profile projects, including the Shard of Glass tower and Thameslink 2000 Planning Inquiry and the redevelopment of University College London Hospital.
Moelis & Company
Hervé Malausséna is to join the investment banking group in August as a managing director, advising clients principally in the telecoms sector in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Malausséna was most recently head of EMEA telecommunications investment banking at Citigroup in London.
