Conduit Capital Markets
The derivatives and securities dealer has hired ex-3i managing partner Bruce Carnegie-Brown as its new non-executive chairman.
Carnegie-Brown has been working for 3i since 2007, latterly as managing partner and chairman of the financial services practice. Prior to that, he was chief executive of Marsh, and spent 18 years at JP Morgan, including as head of European and Asian debt capital markets and chief credit officer for the EMEA region.
Aviva Investors
Shamik Dhar is to rejoin the investment firm as a senior economist in the investment strategy team.
Dhar joins from Fathom Financial Consulting, which he co-founded in 2004.
He has also held management and economist roles at the Bank of England and Oxford Economic Forecasting, and previously spent a stint working at Aviva Investors between 2000 and 2004 as chief UK and European economist.
Morgan Stanley
The banking group has hired Jean Murphy as an executive director and investment adviser in its private wealth management arm.
Murphy joins from ACPI Investments, where she was a partner responsible for managing private client assets in a combination of discretionary portfolios and direct fund investments.
Prior to that, she held the position of chief operating officer of ACP Partners and was an executive director in the wealth management division of Goldman Sachs.
COBA Asset Management
The property wealth manager has appointed fund manager Mickola Wilson as an executive member of the board and management team.
Wilson will continue in her roles as a director of specialist fund manager and property consultancy Seven Dials Fund Management, and as a non-executive director of Cushman Wakefield Investment.
She was previously chief executive of European fund and asset management firm Teesland between 2002 and 2008.
Ilika
Clare Spottiswoode, the former director general of regulator Ofgas and a non-executive at Tullow Oil, has joined the advanced cleantech materials discovery company as a non-executive director.
Spottiswoode was at Ofgas between 1993 and 1998, overseeing the transformation of the gas industry from a monopoly into a deregulated and competitive industry. She was also most recently a policyholder advocate for Aviva.
Association of British Insurers
The ABI has appointed Liz Forster as assistant director of communications.
Forster was formerly at the Department of Work and Pensions, where she was a press secretary to secretaries of state Yvette Cooper and James Purnell.
