CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Reed Elsevier
The publishing group has appointed Ben van der Veer, the former chairman of accountancy firm KPMG in the Netherlands, as a non-executive director, effective from 3 September.
Van der Veer was chairman at KPMG Netherlands between 1999 and 2008 and also sat on the firm’s international board and management committee.
He is a member of the supervisory boards at Aegon, TomTom and Siemens Nederland.
Jefferies
The investment bank has appointed seven new London-based hires to its mortgage and asset-backed securities group, part of the fixed income division.
Steven Hulett and Craig Tipping join as co-heads of the group from RBS and Nomura respectively. Marc Allison, Dennis Hollands and Jason O’Brien join from RBS as senior vice presidents, while Marion Guilbert and Edward Tunstall, also senior VPs, join from Lehman Brothers and Nomura.
Castlestone Management
The boutique asset manager has hired Constanze Kubern from auction house Sotheby’s, to act as the senior art adviser and art manager of the firm’s retail art investment fund.
Kubern worked for five years at Sotheby’s in London, where she was responsible for marketing Impressionist and modern art auctions.
