CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Martin Currie
The investment management firm has appointed Alastair Barrie as global head of hedge fund sales and Clayton Cheek, pictured, as US head of hedge fund sales.
Barrie joins from RBS, where he was a director of institutional business. He has also worked as director of global hedge fund sales at Henderson.
Clayton, who will be based in New York, previously worked for Man Investments.
Baring Asset Management
The investment management firm has appointed Kommera Chakradhar Reddy as head of India equities.
Reddy, who will be based in London, has over 15 years of investment experience, having previously worked as chief investment officer of ABN Amro Mumbai. Prior to that, he was a senior emerging markets fund manager at Charlemagne Capital.
Execution
The agency broker has made seven hires in its agency credit division.
Alex Narr will lead the German credit sales team and joins from UBS, while Sonny Sood, previously at Calyon, will be the investment grade product specialist on the credit team. Paolo Manca, a founding partner of hedge fund New Bond Street AM, will cover Italian fixed income customers and Ramon Varela, formerly of Lehman Brothers, will cover Spanish and Portuguese clients.
Dominic Smyth, Theresa Newell and Carwyn Butcher also join the team, from Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and BNP Paribas respectively.
DLA Piper
The law firm has hired Jon Hayes to its London corporate practice as a partner, effective immediately.
Hayes, who was formerly a partner at rival Linklaters, is a corporate lawyer with particular expertise in international mergers and acquisitions and capital markets advisory work.
Collins Stewart
The investment banking group has appointed Tom Saunders and George Moffet to its pan-European large cap sales team.
Saunders previously worked at JP Morgan Cazenove, where he specialised in broking large cap equities to a mix of UK long-only and hedge fund clients.
Moffet joins from Cazenove, where he was an equity salesman.
Chuo Mitsui Trust International
The global arm of Japan’s second largest trust bank has appointed Sophia Anderson as a manager focused on international sales.
Anderson, who will be based in London, previously worked for Deutsche Bank in Tokyo for two years, before joining Mizuho International in London and, most recently, Macquarie Capital Securities.
