Pinsent Masons
The law firm has appointed Raymond Beven as a London-based partner, responsible for leading the transport team within the firm’s projects and international construction group.
Beven will be tasked with working across a broad transport portfolio including airports, rail and ports and projects in the Middle East, Caspian region and Europe.
He joins from Ashurst, where he was also head of the transport group.
Equitable Life
The insurer has appointed Cathryn Riley and Keith Nicholson as non-executive directors.
Riley is currently chief operating officer and chief information officer for Europe at Aviva, having also previously worked for British Airways, BUPA and Coopers & Lybrand.
Nicholson left KPMG in 2009 after over 30 years with the firm.
Jones Day
The law firm has hired Hamish Lal, currently head of construction at Dundas and Wilson, as its London head of construction.
Lal has particular experience in the real estate, energy, utilities, engineering, nuclear and project finance sectors.
AXA Investment Managers
The investment management firm has appointed Mark Beveridge as global head of AXA Framlington, its qualitative equity brand.
Beveridge was previously a partner and chief investment officer for global equity at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London, having joined in December 2004. He has also held senior roles at Frankling Templeton Group and Fort Lauderdale.
Matrix Corporate Capital
Bill Blain and Jim St Johnston have joined the broking and corporate advisory group as co-heads of fixed income.
Blain’s previous roles include five years at HSBC, where he set up and ran the financial institutions debt capital markets team, and nine years at Bear Stearns, where he became co-head of the global financial institutions group.
St Johnson formerly spent eight years at ABN Amro, where he was global head of syndicate.
Olswang
Anthony Tulloch is to join the law firm’s investment funds practice as a partner.
Tulloch previously worked at SJ Berwin, where he spent over ten years as a partner in the private equity and funds group in Germany before working as a consultant in London.
His expertise is primarily in fund formation, specifically in private equity and venture capital funds, as well as hedge funds and other forms of alternative investment. At Olswang, he will be based in London but will work closely with the firm’s Berlin office.
