CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Deloitte
The business advisory firm has hired Carl Bates and Ed Marsden as partners in its technology, media and telecoms (TMT) data team.
Both join from Detica, where Bates, pictured, was managing director for the UK consulting business and Marsden led the TMT practice.
Bates also previously spent four years as a director at Deloitte, while Marsden worked for Accenture in the UK and Australia.
Macquarie Capital
The banking, financial advisory and fund management group has appointed John Dwyer as a managing director in its European equity capital markets team.
Dwyer joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was an executive director in the EMEA equity capital markets division. He has extensive experience of origination and execution of equity and equity linked transactions both in the UK and in a broad range of geographies including Russia, central and eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Sophis
Sergio Giacoletto has joined the portfolio and risk management group as chairman of the supervisory board.
Giacoletto recently joined the operating partner programme at Advent International, a majority shareholder of Sophis. He replaces former chairman Pascal
Stefani, a managing director at Advent, who will remain a member of the Sophis board.
He was also previously executive vice president of Oracle Corporation between 2000 and 2008, where he was responsible for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
NewRiver Retail
The commercial property investment and asset management company has appointed Nick Sewell as a board director at its wholly-owned subsidiary, NewRiver Capital.
Sewell previously worked at CB Richard Ellis, where he was a director in the retail capital markets team. He specialises in high street, shopping centre and food store investments.
Blacklaws Davis
The family law firm has appointed Chris May as practice manager.
May was formerly chief executive of Fridays law firm, and has also been operations director of regional firm BPL.
He is an expert in risk management and systems and specialises in working with venture capital and private equity investors in professional services.
Eden Financial
The broking and asset management firm has boosted its fixed income team with the appointment of Gaurav Singh as a global credit analyst.
Singh previously worked as a senior investment analyst for the Stamford Global Event Driven Fund and as a vice-president in the M&A team at Merrill Lynch India.
