RBC Wealth Management
The wealth manager, part of the Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Sarah Macdonald as a director, focusing on UK entrepreneurial clients.
Macdonald has worked for over a decade in the financial services industry at both Barclays Wealth and Morgan Stanley. She specialises in advising high net worth clients on asset management and wealth structuring, including portfolio construction, wealth preservation, succession issues and philanthropy.
Jefferies
The investment banking firm has hired Jean-Marc Zaffran as a managing director and international credit salesperson and Tom Jenkins as a senior vice president and international credit analyst.
Zaffran joins from Merrill Lynch, where he spent six years, latterly as head of emerging market fixed income sales. He also previously founded Mac Futures, a joint venture with Refco Securities. Jenkins moves over from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was a senior financial analyst.
Deloitte
The business advisory firm has taken on Martin Dwyer from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as a director in its global employer services group.
Dwyer has spent a 35 year career at HMRC, where he was formerly head of its expatriate employer compliance unit and a senior operational adviser to the HMRC expatriate forum.
Dechert
Jonathan Angell is joining the international law firm as a partner in its corporate and securities practice in London.
Angell will focus his practice on advising companies and equity finance providers on large and complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions and joint ventures, especially in the private equity and energy sectors.
He was formerly a partner in the London office of Ashurst.
Grosvenor
The property group has appointed Ulrike Schwarz-Runer as general counsel to its Grosvenor Britain & Ireland business, advising on non-routine transactions, managing the firm’s external legal advisers and managing legal risk across the business.
Schwarz-Runer was previously general counsel at Dubai Holdings and an executive director of Goldman Sachs Investment Management in New York, London and Frankfurt.
She has also worked as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Mercer
Stephen Roberts is set to join Mercer as regional business leader for investment management in the Asia Pacific region.
Roberts has over 20 years of investment experience. He previously worked for seven years in senior executive roles with the Russell Investment Group, including as managing director of institutional investment services for the Australasia region.
