Matrix Corporate Capital
The broking and corporate advisory firm has appointed Oliver Hoare as head of pan-European large cap equity sales.
Hoare, who will begin with full coverage of the UK market and then roll out his team’s service to continental Europe, brings over 20 years of experience to the role.
He was most recently at Collins Stewart and previously worked at Commerzbank, where he ran pan-European equity sales.
Alexander Mann
The recruitment giant has appointed Michael O’Higgins as chairman of the board.
O’Higgins, 55, is a former managing partner of PA Consulting and partner at Price Waterhouse Consulting. He has been chairman of the Audit Commission since October 2006 and is a non-executive director of HM Treasury and chair of the Treasury Group Audit Committee. He has also been chairman of the board of trustees for Centrepoint since 2004.
Hewitt Associates
The HR consultancy has hired Chris DeMarco to its UK investment consulting team.
DeMarco, who joins as a senior investment consultant, was most recently a managing director and head of insurance and pension solution sales at HSBC, leading a team responsible for structuring and executing a variety of transactions for insurance, reinsurance and pension clients.
Prior to that, he held various positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, including as head of ALM structuring.
Ambrian Capital
Richard Chase has joined the natural resources investment banking group as managing director of Ambrian Partners, its corporate finance and equities subsidiary.
A former geologist, Chase joined the firm in 2003 as head of research, becoming a director in 2006 and chief operating officer in 2007.
Ambrian Capital chief executive Tom Gaffney also becomes chairman of Ambrian Partners, while Lawrence Banks becomes a non-executive director.
Impax
The environmental sector-focused investment management group has appointed John McDonald as head of sales and marketing.
McDonald was previously head of alternative sales and marketing at New Star Asset Management, which he joined in 2004.
Pixel Interactive Media
The online advertising sales network has appointed David Rae as a non-executive director.
Rae, who worked with the firm’s directors on its Aim IPO in 2006, previously held positions at Robert W. Baird and Dawnay Day Corporate Finance.
