Bank of America Merrill Lynch
The bank has appointed Carole Berndt and Wayne Scott to its corporate banking team as part of a global shake-up.
Berndt, pictured, is head of EMEA global treasury services and joined from Citigroup.
Scott is head of EMEA financial institutions treasury sales, also based in London. He was most recently head of financial institutions for western Europe at RBS and has also previously worked at Wachovia and Barclays.
Travers Smith
Alasdair Douglas, the law firm’s senior partner, is to retire on 30 June this year after 25 years as a partner at the firm.
Douglas was managing partner of the company between 1994 and 2000, and took over as senior partner in July 2006.
He will be succeeded by Chris Carroll, who has himself been managing partner since 2001.
Rosenblatt Solicitors
The law firm has appointed Robert Guest as a partner and head of its funds and financial services division.
Guest joins from Beachcroft Solicitors, where he was a partner in the financial institutions group. He had previously held the position of general counsel and compliance director at SG Asset Management.
Charles Stanley Securities
The advisory and broking firm has hired six new members to its team.
Dugald Carlean has rejoined the firm as director of corporate finance, having left in 2006 to join Fox-Pitt Kelton.
Andy Smith has joined as an equity analyst covering support services, having previously worked at Cazenove, UBS, ABN Amro and Blue Oar, while former Astaire Securities transport and travel guru Douglas McNeill has also joined as an analyst.
Bob Pountney, Matt Marchant and Nicholas Perin also all move over from Astaire – Pountney in UK institutional sales, and Marchant and Perin in the institutional corporate sales team.
Heritage Capital
The merchant banking division of Banque Heritage has appointed Rolf Friedrich as managing director in the capital markets group, covering Germany and Austria.
Based in London, Friedrich joins from LBBW, where he was head of international sales with responsibility for expanding the firm’s capital markets activities outside of Germany. He joined LBBW in September 2008 from Wachovia, where he worked for five years.
Quilter
Mark Hendricks has joined the investment management firm from HSBC Global Asset Management.
Hendricks, who becomes an investment manager, has over 15 years of experience in private client portfolio management. Prior to his role at HSBC, he was at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, City of London Investment Management and Grindlay’s Private Banking.
