CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Threadneedle
The asset management firm has appointed Kris Haber as global head of hedge funds and head of the North American business.
Haber, who will report directly to the firm’s chief executive Crispin Henderson, joins after a 13-year spell working for Lazard Asset Management, where he was most recently a managing director for global alternative investments.
PricewaterhouseCoopers
The accountancy firm has appointed Malcolm Preston as global leader of the sustainability and climate change network and Celine Herweijer to lead its climate change risk modelling and adaptation services.
Preston has worked at the firm for 25 years and currently leads the UK sustainability and climate change practice.
Herweijer, an adviser to the G20 taskforce on low-carbon economic prosperity, previously worked with the United Nations in New York as a lead climate analyst.
Aviva Investors
The investment group has appointed Paul Whelan as a credit portfolio manager, effective immediately.
Whelan joins from Henderson Global Investors, where he managed the interest rate portfolio within a fixed-income hedge fund.
He also previously gained experience working at UBS Global Asset Management on both benchmarked and absolute return funds.
Nomura
The Japanese bank has hired David Sahlin as a managing director and head of equity sales for the Nordic region.
Sahlin, who was previously responsible for Nordic client coverage and equity derivative distribution at JP Morgan, will focus on serving pension funds and institutional investors in the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, France and the Netherlands.
Begbies Traynor
Len Fawke has joined the business recovery and restructuring group as leader of the pension advisory services team.
Fawke joins from Grant Thornton, where he was a senior member of the national pensions advisory team. He was also head of scheme-specific funding at the Pensions Regulator throughout 2007, where he was instrumental in implementing the regulator’s approach to risk based regulation
Davies Arnold Cooper
The law firm has hired Wendy Trehy, a specialist in contentious and non-contentious employment law, as a partner in its employment group.
Trehy was formerly in-house counsel at satellite broadcast group BSkyB and joins from commercial law firm Vizards Wyeth, where she was head of the employment law team.
