PVE CAPITAL
The investment group has appointed two new members to its team managing the Matrix PVE Global Credit Fund, a hedge fund launched in October last year as a joint venture between PVE Capital and private equity firm Matrix.
Elena Ciampichetti joins as head of credit research from Citi, where she was a managing director in the fixed income team.
Judith Newman becomes a research analyst, having previously worked at Credaris.
PRINCIPAL GLOBAL INVESTORS
The asset manager has expanded its fixed income team in London with the appointment of managing director Jon Taylor as head of global and emerging market bonds.
Taylor relocates from the US, where he has been working for PGI since 2006. Prior to that, he was chief investment officer at HSBC Asset Management Australia and UBS Global Asset Management Australia.
He originally started his career as an international economist with the US Treasury department.
GREY SPARK PARTNERS
Frederic Ponzo, George Kao, Andrew McLauchlan and Bradley Wood have set up Grey Spark, a business consultancy specialising in the capital markets.
Managing partner Ponzo was previously managing director of international consultancy NET2S. McLauchlan and Wood were also previously at NET2S as business development director and principal consultant respectively, while Kao was a sales executive for the e-commerce business at Barclays Capital.
PEAK RIDGE CAPITAL
The alternative asset manager has appointed Gary King as a senior strategic adviser for the Middle East and North Africa region.
King has over 20 years of experience in the industry, working for the likes of Morgan Stanley, Macquarie and Emirates National Oil Company.
Most recently, he was chief executive of Dubai Natural Resources World and the Dubai Mercantile Exchange.
SAFFRON TAX PARTNERS
The private client tax consultancy has hired Ali Sarikhani as its new chairman. Sarikhani has extensive experience of the tax industry, having built the Chiltern Group into the major independent tax consultancy in the UK prior to its sale in 2007.
In addition, Tal Kalsi has joined as a senior partner and Niels Nielsen, a director of Azure Property Investments, as an adviser.
ENOVATION RESOURCES
The oil and gas exploration and development firm has appointed Neil Ritson, the former boss of Regal Petroleum, as a non-executive director.
Ritson previously spent over 20 years of his career at BP before joining Burlington Resources as a senior vice president and then Regal as chief executive. He is currently chief executive of the Vanguard Energy group, which he founded in 2008.
