Rosenblatt Solicitors
The City law firm has hired James Klein as a corporate partner, effective from 1 September.
Klein joins from Berwin Leighton Paisner, where he was a corporate finance partner focusing in particular on the technology.
He has a wide range of experience on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital issues and has also co-headed the corporate department at Arnold & Porter and worked at DLA Piper.
Nomura Securities
Brian Foran is to join the Japanese bank’s US equity research department as a managing director and senior analyst covering the banks sector.
Foran moves over from Goldman Sachs, where he was a senior analyst covering mid-cap banks, trust banks and specialty finance.
He will work closely with Glenn Schorr, who covers brokers and asset managers for Nomura.
T. Rowe Price
The investment management firm has appointed Andrew Clifton as a European equity portfolio specialist based in London.
Clifton will be responsible for covering European core equity, European structured research equity and European smaller companies equity strategies for clients and prospects.
He was formerly an equity strategist at UBS Global Asset Management.
JP Morgan
JP Morgan Private Bank has appointed Georgina Gordon to its UK domestic team, led by Richard Madeley.
Based in London, Gordon will focus on developing the bank’s business in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Prior to joining JP Morgan, she was a portfolio manager at GAM Holdings, where she managed a global client base of high net worth individuals, trusts, charities and pension schemes. She has also previously worked at Close Private Asset Management.
Sara Lee
The consumer group said yesterday that chairman and chief executive Brenda Barnes will be stepping down permanently from her roles in order to focus on improving her health.
Barnes had been on medical leave since 14 May after suffering a stroke.
The board said it had started a process to select a new chief executive, looking at both internal and external candidates. Marcel Smits will continue as interim chief executive and Mark Garvey as interim chief financial officer.
Southern Bear
The industrial and support services group has hired Neil Chapman and Christopher Arnott as non-executive directors.
The pair, aged 41 and 37 respectively, previously founded specialist fire and corrosion protection company Intumescent Protective Coatings (IPCL), which was acquired by Southern Bear last December.
