CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Gleacher Shacklock
The corporate advisory firm has appointed Peter Alcaraz as a senior adviser, effective from next spring.
Alcaraz, who will be tasked with helping to develop the firm’s franchise in the services sector, joins from Close Brothers Corporate Finance, where he was most recently a managing director and head of the services sector team. He has experience advising clients such as ERM, Accord, Connaught and Morgan Sindall.
St James’s Place
The wealth management firm has appointed Chris Ralph as chief investment officer and Vivian Bazalgette and Peter Dunscombe to its investment committee.
Ralph previously worked at the fund of funds business at Fidelity International, after which he left to form asset management boutique Maia Capital, a joint venture with Ignis Asset Management.
Bazalgette and Dunscombe, who are due to join at the beginning of next year, previously worked as chief investment officer at Prudential and head of pension investments at the BBC Pension Trust respectively.
Heartwood
The independent wealth manager has hired Giles Peel as head of investment communications, based in London.
Peel joins from Coutts, where he was also head of investment communications, and also previously worked for six years as head of investment and product writing at Barclays Wealth.
Arbuthnot
Dean Michael Proctor has joined the group as a board member and chief executive of its private banking division Arbuthnot Latham & Co.
Proctor, 38, joined the division in July as deputy chief executive and head of private banking, prior to which he was managing director of wealth management and private banking at Citi.
He also previously spent time at Egg Banking Plc and Lloyds TSB.
Martin Currie
The investment manager has poached Christine Montgomery and Neil Robson to join its global equities team, led by James Fairweather.
Montgomery joins from Edinburgh Partners, where she was an investment partner responsible for managing segregated institutional accounts.
Robson previously worked as head of global equities at Pioneer Investments and has also been a fund manager at Baring Asset Management, where he was the global sector strategist for the group’s global and EAFE funds.
Jones Lang LaSalle
The property group has appointed Tim Johnson as a director in its rating team.
Johnson joins from CBRE and has spent his career working in the business rates sector, with particular experience in the City and Canary Wharf.
