Exotix
The frontier markets investment banking boutique has appointed Gabriel Sterne as a senior economist, covering Eastern Europe, CIS, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Sterne joined Exotix in July from the Bank of England, where he was most recently been a senior manager in the modelling and systemic risk analysis division.
He was also previously a senior economist for the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Commerzbank
The bank has hired seven new senior employees to its investment banking division in London.
Adam Pasztor joins as head of inflation trading from UBS, while Vincent Charvin joins the hybrids and trading strategies team from Société Générale and Alastair Neely joins the rates trading desk from oil giant Shell, to spearhead the expansion of the dollar swaps and vanilla options business.
Charlotte Ravouna and Michele Tommasi join the investor solutions sales group from Nomura and StormHarbour Securities respectively; while Vishal Gupta comes over to the corporate solutions sales team and Simon Cuddihy joins the euro rates trading desk in London from Standard Chartered.
Houlihan Lokey
The investment bank has hired David Sola as a managing director in London, focusing on mergers and acquisitions.
Sola was previously co-head of European M&A at UBS Investment Bank, as well as holding roles managing Softbank Europe Ventures, a portfolio of early-stage technology companies, and as a managing director at technology M&A boutique Arma Partners.
Co-operative Financial Services
CFS has appointed Keith Alderson as managing director of corporate and business banking and a member of its executive team.
Alderson, who takes up his new role immediately, joined CFS originally as director of corporate banking in 2003.
Ascent Resources
The Aim-listed oil and gas explorer and producer has appointed Scott Richardson Brown as its new finance director, effective from 4 January next year.
Richardson Brown was most recently corporate finance and investor relations director at wireless technology group CSR and was also recently a partner in corporate broking at Oriel Securities.
