HSBC Private Bank
The bank has appointed three associate directors to its high net worth team.
Simon Gamse has over 28 years of experience, including working for Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Barclays Wealth.
Jonathan Reed joins from Seven Investment Management, while Paul Avant (pictured) returns to London to take up his new position, having previously been seconded to HSBC’s private clients team in Jersey.
RBC Capital Markets
The corporate and investment bank has hired Martin Dunn, Chris Rogers, Nicole Humphries and Laurence Sherlock to its global financial institutions group.
Dunn, Rogers and Humphries join as managing directors from the Royal Bank of Scotland, BNP Paribas and Barclays Wealth respectively.
Sherlock, who was head of business development in Europe for Standard Chartered, will become a director in correspondent banking.
Frontier Capital Management
The investment manager has promoted Colin Hodges to the role of chief executive and Michael Azlen, the founder of the company in 2004, to executive chairman.
Hodges joined Frontier Capital in 2006 after seven years with Gartmore Investment Management in Tokyo and London.
In addition, Marc Davies becomes head of investments after four years with the firm as an investment analyst, prior to which he was a financial accountant for Goldcrest Films International.
DWF
The law firm has appointed five new lawyers to its insurance team in London.
Peter Blake joins from Kennedys, Nick Connolly from Barlow Lyde and Gilbert and Dan Verow from BLM, all as senior solicitors.
James Manning also joins from Barlow Lyde and Gilbert as a legal executive, while Sophie Mourmouris moves over from Baker and McKenzie as a solicitor.
RSA
The insurance group has hired Soledad Vitale as a renewable energy underwriter.
Vitale previously worked as an underwriter for construction, engineering and renewable energy at HSB EIL, after having moved to the UK from Marsh’s Argentina office.
Syscap
John Allbrook is to join the independent finance provider as its new executive chairman.
He was previously chief executive of asset sales and services provider GoIndustry-DoveBid, leading the company through its Aim listing and the acquisition of DoveBid for $27m (£18m) in January 2008.
Prior to that, he worked for nine years at GE Capital, latterly as EMEA managing director for Sun Microsystems Finance.
