Smith & Williamson
The professional services group has appointed Vivienne Oliver as an associate director in its restructuring and recovery services team.
An 18-year veteran of Ernst & Young, where she worked on formal appointments, divestments, restructurings and wind-ups of investment trusts and funds, Oliver also formerly worked as a director at Baker Tilly. She is also the chair of the R3 Women’s Group.
RBC Global Asset Management
The Canada-based investment management group has hired Philippe Langham and Michael Joynson to its London team.
Langham, who becomes a portfolio manager, will be responsible for establishing and leading the firm’s emerging markets equities team, having most recently held the position of head of global emerging markets at Société Générale Asset Management in London.
Joynson joins as a senior member of the European equities team from Citigroup, where he was a director in global equity strategy.
Actis
Nick Luckock, the former head of private investments at CPIM, has been appointed as a director in the financial services group at private equity investment firm Actis.
Luckock has a raft of experience in the industry, having also previously worked as a principal in the financial services team at Apax Partners and in Australia and London for the Boston Consulting Group.
Omega Insurance
The insurer and reinsurer has hired David Coles from Atlas Partners as its new head of investor relations.
Coles, who has over 14 years of experience in the international reinsurance industry, was a co-founder of independent boutique advisory firm Atlas.
Prior to that, he worked at Amlin as head of corporate development, and also in the investment banking division at Morgan Stanley.
BNP Paribas Real?Estate
The property adviser has appointed Alistair Oates as its new head of valuation in the UK, effective from this month.
Oates joins from DTZ, where he has worked for the past 22 years as a director, having provided valuation advice to a range of clients including institutional property owners and banks. He was also part of the team that led the Dawnay Day instruction.
Bestinvest
The Mayfair-based independent financial adviser has appointed Andrew Clark to its wealth management division. Clark has over 25 years of experience working with banks, companies, hedge funds, IFAs and retail investors, and his focus will be on advising investors about tax-efficient opportunities in the market.
