SWIP
The Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed Ramsay Urquhart as its new finance director and part of the executive committee, reporting directly to managing director Dean Buckley.
Urquhart joins from Barclays Wealth, where he has been head of investment operations since September 2006.
Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Dutch financial services company ING, most recently holding the position of global head of financial markets operations.
Evolution
The investment banking group has hired Steve Bartlett to its corporate finance team as head of private company and private equity coverage, effective immediately.
Bartlett has two decades of experience as an adviser, focusing on private company M&A work and private equity.
He most recently operated his own advisory practice and, prior to that, worked in the corporate finance team at business advisory firm BDO, as well as for Phoenix Equity Partners and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Barclays Wealth
Rick Denton is to join the wealth manager as head of clients and markets in the advisory division, responsible for developing the service to ultra high net worth clients globally.
Denton joins from Meespierson/ Fortis-Intertrust, where he was group commercial director before the nationalisation of the bank and the sale of its trust business.
Prior to that, he was an executive vice president at the Bank of Bermuda, where he was responsible for their European private client businesses.
Natixis Global Associates
The distribution arm of Natixis Global Asset Management has hired Euan MacLaren as director of UK institutional business development and Katie Lam as a consultant relationship analyst, both based in London.
MacLaren spent the past four years working in business development for Ignis Asset Management, while Lam joins from Union Bancaire Privée, where she was an executive on the UK institutional sales team. She has also previously worked for Credit Suisse Asset Management.
