BDO Stoy Hayward
The accountancy firm has hired three new partners to its London business restructuring team.
Danny Dartnaill joined BDO in 2003 and has recently been involved in high-profile restructurings in the retail and asset management sectors. Nick Goldstone, who joined the firm in 2002, specialises in the leisure and hospitality sector, while insolvency practitioner Sarah Rayment, pictured, joined BDO in 2005 and recently set up its restructuring real estate team.
Veritas Asset Management
The wealth manager has appointed Raymond Foo as a senior analyst to strengthen its Asia team.
Foo, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins from Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he was the firm’s chief Asian strategist and portfolio manager on its Emerging Market Strategies Fund. Prior to that, he was head of economics and strategy research at BNP Paribas Peregrine in Hong Kong and Asian head of research for PJB Pacific Securities.
Markel International
The specialist property and casualty insurer has appointed Philippe Tamwelius as a senior liability underwriter for Markel International Sweden.
Tamwelius has over 22 years of experience in the insurance industry and has worked for eight years at AIG Europe, where he was chief underwriter for professional liability insurance. He has also held positions at RSA Scandinavia, Zurich and Trygg-Hansa.
Hewitt Associates
The human resources consulting and outsourcing company has appointed Anne Swift as chief investment officer within its UK DC team, responsible for its DC investment platform services.
Swift joins from BlackRock, where she was a director in the account management group and investment officer for the DC business. Prior to that, she spent two years with Hewitt.
Bargate Murray
The City law firm has appointed Philip Henson as a partner and head of the employment law department.
Henson joins from Magrath and is also an associate fellow of the Society of Advanced Legal Studies and a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
He specialises in negotiating severance packages for senior City executives, restructuring and redundancy advice and defending employment tribunal cases concerning race discrimination and constructive unfair dismissal.
Rowanmoor Pensions
The pensions firm has appointed Robert Graves as head of technical services.
Graves joined the firm in 2008 as product development manager. He is also chairman of the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes.
