Legal & General Property
The property investment group has hired Simon Russian as senior fund manager of retail development.
Russian was previously head of retail and development director at Wilson Bowden Developments, which he joined in 1995. In his new role, he will be responsible for strategically managing the firm’s retail development projects and working with the asset management team across all development negotiation processes.
Caledonia Investments
The investment trust has appointed Stephen King as its new finance director, effective from 9 December.
King, who replaces the outgoing Jonathan Cartwright, is also currently a non-executive director at Weir Group, where he is chairman of the audit committee. He was previously finance director at Midlands Electricity before being appointed as finance director of De La Rue.
Armstrong
The investment management firm has appointed Eugen Fostiak and Gideon Nell as partners.
Fostiak becomes a portfolio manager, having previously worked as a fund manager at Insight Investment’s multi-asset group and as a director at UBS Wealth Management.
Nell joins in business and manager origination, also from Insight Investment. He was also formerly a director for European offshore centres at Lloyds Banking Group.
Neuberger Berman
Gregory Francfort has rejoined the asset management firm as a managing director and director of equity research, having previously spent 13 years working at the group.
Francfort was previously director of research from 1991 to 1993 before joining Straus, one of the group’s portfolio teams. He was a Straus portfolio manager until 2004, when he retired to manage private assets and teach security analysis as an adjunct professor at Columbia University.
Santander
The bank’s corporate banking team has hired Jo Honess as relationship director for the South West region.
Honess has over 23 years of experience in the sector, having previously worked at RBS NatWest, primarily in relationship management of corporate and commercial clients and the funding of corporate finance transactions for expansion, acquisitions and management buy-outs.
Nichols
The soft drinks group has appointed Tim Croston, aged 46, as group finance director, effective from the beginning of next year.
Croston has been finance and operations director of the Vimto soft drinks division for the past two years, and prior to this was Nichols’ group financial controller.
He originally joined the group four years ago from BSN Medical, part of the Smith & Nephew Group, where he was financial controller.
