Weir Group
Jon Stanton will join the company this Spring as group finance director. Stanton, 42, arrives from Ernst & Young where he has worked since 1988. He has been a partner in the London office since 2001 with responsibility for the audit of several FTSE 100 clients, including Invensys, Hanson and InterContinental Hotels. Stanton also M&A experience and has been involved in restructuring and business process improvement projects.
JP Morgan
Cesar Perez joins the Wall Street bank as chief investment strategist for private clients in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based in London, Perez will be responsible for developing and implementing the bank’s investment strategy and tailoring it for client portfolios in the region. He will report to Michael Cembalest, chief investment officer and global head of investment strategy, and James Walker, head of investments in the region. Before joining JP Morgan Perez was a managing director and the head of equities at Al Rajhi Bank Asset Management in Riyadh.

The pensions and retirement benefits administration software firm has appointed Roy Augsberger as the president of wholly-owned subsidiary Lynchval. Augsberger is experienced in pensions, annuities and financial services having previously been consulting practice director of Tata Consultancy Services’ global consulting practice. He has also been the chief information officer and vice president at Citigroup Global Investments.
ITG
Invest Technology Group, the broker and financial technology firm, has appointed Duncan Higgins as a director within the electronic sales group in Europe. Higgins joined on 4 January and reports to Robert Boardman, head of electronic trading. Higgins, 36, previously worked with multi-lateral trading facility Turquoise where he was head of client relationship management. Before joining Turquoise Boardman spent almost 10 years at Swiss investment bank UBS.
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
Barclays chairman Marcus Agius has been appointed chairman of the board of trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The former chairman of Lazard London, Agius is also the senior independent director on the executive board of the BBC. He was also formerly chairman of airports operator BAA. Agius takes on the role of chairman at Kew having served on both the RBG Kew board and as chairman of the Kew Foundation and Friends board.
Piper Jaffray
The middle market investment bank and securities firm has appointed Alain Rizk as managing director of its healthcare investment banking unit and Mark Gardner as principal in its European equity sales division. Rizk joins from Europa Partners and Gardner from Pali International.
