Aviva
The insurance giant said yesterday Patrick Regan, its incoming chief financial officer and executive director, will step up to his new role on 22 February.
Regan was previously group chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Willis Group, and has also held finance roles in the past at the likes of RSA and Axa.
He succeeds Philip Scott, who stepped down on Tuesday after 36 years with the group.
Execution
The stockbroker has hired Juan Carrion to head up research in its fixed income division, focusing on the high-yield and crossover credit market.
Carrion has over 17 years of experience in working in the fixed income markets, both on the buy and sell side.
He began his career at Salomon Brothers and has previously held senior positions at Barclays Capital and Prudential Investments. Most recently, he was director of high grade and crossover credit research at UBS.
Impetus Trust
Louis Elson, managing partner and co-founder of Palamon Capital Partners, has been appointed as chairman of the UK venture philanthropy specialist.
Elson has been a trustee of Impetus since July 2009 and takes up his new role on 24 March. Prior to co-founding Palamon in 1999, he was a London-based partner at Warburg Pincus.
Eden Financial
The brokerage and asset management firm has hired Tiziano Chiappini and Luther Mead to co-head its institutional bond desk and lead the fixed income development within its global markets division.
The pair, who are joined by former colleagues Michele Fumagalli and Stefano Panciroli, previously worked together at Newedge, where they built the firm’s institutional bond desk serving clients across Europe.
Crown Mortgage Management
Crown has appointed Eric Stoclet, a 25-year veteran of investment bank Citigroup, as its new chief executive officer, effective from 1 February.
Stoclet is currently advising Crown and Forum Partners, one of the group’s substantial investors, on the restructuring of its European holdings. Prior to that, he was group executive director at Noor Investment Group in Dubai and, until 2007, worked at Citi in the US, Europe, North Africa and Latin America.
Gamma Finance
Former Deutsche Bank and Barclays Global Investors duo Florian de Sigy and Javier Rodriguez have founded Gamma Finance, a new financial boutique aimed at servicing investors in the alternative investment space.
De Sigy was formerly head of structured equity sales for Europe at Deutsche, while Rodriguez was senior strategist and head of strategic accounts in Barclays Global Investors’ client solutions group.
