Winston & Strawn
Justin McClelland has joined the law firm from Milband as a partner in its global commercial litigation practice. He started his legal career at Slaughter & May, and previously served in Army Legal Services, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was appointed a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 1998.
PIMCO
The investment management firm has appointed Will Allport as defined contribution business development manager for the UK and Ireland. He will report to John Griffiths, head of institutional business development. Allport joins from Alliance Bernstein, where he was vice president within global product management, and previously vice president, product strategy, of defined contribution investments.
RLAM
Royal London Asset Management has appointed Azhar Hussain as head of global high yield. He joins from Insight Investment Management, where he was head of high yield and leveraged loans. He has also held senior roles at Gulf International Bank and Deloitte & Touche.
Association of Consulting Actuaries
The Association of Consulting Actuaries (ACA) has elected Andrew Vaughan as its new chairman. He succeeds Stuart Southall, chairman of Punter Southall. Vaughan is a partner at Barnett Waddingham, and his appointment was effective 1 June. David Fairs of KPMG was also re-elected as honorary treasurer and Bob Scott of Lane Clark & Peacock was elected honorary secretary.
May Gurney
William MacDiarmid has been appointed non-executive director of the integrated construction, engineering and maintenance services firm. He was most recently chief executive of Eaga, the energy services company, and has held senior positions at Scottish Power, most recently as director of energy retail. From 2007 to 2009, MacDiarmid was chairman of the energy retail association.
Cordea Savills
The property investment management firm has appointed Lionel Nicolas as director of investment for France. His appointment follows Cordea Savills’s recent hire of Clement Pigott as head of investment, France and Benelux, in March of this year. Nicolas joins from Urban Premium, where he was joint managing director and fund manager of its prime retail property fund. He has also served as general manager at Macquarie Countrywide Trust.
Sav Credit
The specialist credit card provider has appointed Andrew Lazenby as customer acquisition director as part of its accelerated expansion plans. Lazenby previously worked for Capital One, where he led its partnerships team and managed all direct mail and telesales acquisition. He has also held senior marketing roles at AOL, Dell, and Affinion.
