The financial services group has appointed Dr Navid Malik as head of life sciences equity research. Malik joins from the investment banking arm of Matrix Group, where he was partner and head of life sciences research. Prior to that, he was a senior equity analyst for Collins Stewart and Williams de Broë, covering the pharmaceutical, chemicals, healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Malik was awarded two StarMine analyst awards in 2011, ranked as the number one stock picker in the European pharmaceuticals sector and the number two stock picker in the UK and Ireland healthcare sector.
Berkeley Law
The law firm specialising in wealth advice for high-net-worth individuals has strengthened its team by hiring Carly Russell and Jacqui McCoy. Russell joins from PwC Legal and McCoy joins from Pemberton Greenish.
SWIP
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has hired Bindesh Savjani as director of risk, based in SWIP’s Edinburgh office. Savjani joins from Aviva Investors, where he was most recently global chief risk officer.

The Aim-listed executive search firm has made eight senior appointments. Krystyna Nowak and Neil Holmes join the board; Laurence Vallaeys, Kate Latham and Patricia Ruiz-Casaux join the consumer and leisure practice; Julian Wolfinden and Cathy Bain join the financial services practice; and Laurie Callow joins the healthcare and pharmaceuticals practice.

The financial adviser has strengthened its technology practice by promoting Duncan Lamb from director to corporate finance partner.

The investment company has hired Juergen Lanzer as a portfolio manager on the Global Equities desk, effective from 1 October. Lanzer was previously a portfolio manager at Schroders.

The investment firm has hired Max von Bismarck, previously the director and head of investors at the World Economic Forum, as a partner and CEO of the firm’s international operations.
